GRANDE
PRAIRIE, ALBERTA (June 30, 2010) – 19 year-old Jamie Krzysik continued his complete
dominance over the IMCA Modifieds at Edmonton International
Raceway, snaring his fourth win of 2010.
Krzysik is
a member of the Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle driver
development program based in
Sacramento,
Calif.
He was the 2009 IMCA Canadian Rookie of the Year and is
currently in the running for the championship in 2010.
In time
trials, Krzysik timed in third quick with a time of 15.27
seconds.
Krzysik was
unable to win either of his heat races, but finished strong in
the first heat with a third place effort. The second heat
race saw Krzysik make a quick move to the front only to be
freight trained the rear. He made up some ground before the
finish and came home fifth.
Krzysik
started second in the 25 lap feature and challenged for the
lead before the caution came out on lap five.
For the
next 15 laps, the top-three cars ran nose-to-tail with Krzysik
maintaining second. At the line with four laps to go, Krzysik
moved to the outside and ran side-by-side with the leader.
A lap and a
half later, Krzysik broke through and cruised to the checkers
for the victory.
Krzysik
unofficially leads the points at both Edmonton International
Raceway and in the overall IMCA Canadian Championship.
Krzysik
will take a break before returning to racing for Ron Sutton’s
Winner’s Circle Ford Focus Midget team on July 17 at Stockton
99 Speedway in Stockton, Calif.
“Another
great run for Jamie before he gets back into a Midget,” said
driver coach Ron Sutton. “I am very optimistic that he can be
in contention for the race win in July!”
