RSWC ROOKIE KRZYSIK SCORES CAREER BEST NASCAR LATE MODEL FINISH

GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALBERTA (July 19, 2011) – 20 year-old Jamie Krzysik continued his rapid development during his rookie season in NASCAR Late Models, picking up a career-best second place finish on Saturday night at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif.  The Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle development driver earned the finish in just his fourth career NASCAR start.

Krzysik, driving the #16 Isley Group Chevrolet for Bill McAnally Racing, qualified second fastest to open up the weekend.  Krzysik’s lap of 13.822 seconds was his fastest yet at the one-third mile speedway and just .044 seconds off of fast-time qualifier Matt Scott.

A five car invert placed Krzysik fourth on the grid for the 75 lap feature event.  The 2010 IMCA Modified Canada National champion navigated traffic well.  Krzysik lost a back-and-forth battle with Scott but passed Juan Pitta to move back into fourth.

Close and competitive racing saw Krzysik maneuver into second on lap 16 before running his fastest lap of the race on lap 21.  Krzysik settled in for the remainder of the race which went without a caution until late in the event.  The late restart saw the leader get a slight jump on Krzysik, effectively ending chances at a possible win.

Krzysik fended off the points leader to bring home the second place finish and his career-best mark in the highly competitive NASCAR Late Models.

“Jamie used great patient and skill to finish second on Saturday,” Driver Coach Ron Sutton said.  “Challenging for the win in his fourth start is a sign of his great talent and potential as a driver!”
